Flat fire - Dalston

A man was rescued by firefighters following a blaze in a flat in Freshfield Avenue, Dalston.

Three fire engines and around fifteen firefighters were called the the fire. Part of a two-roomed flat on the third floor was damaged by fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the man, who was taken to hospital by London Ambulance crews.  

The Brigade was called at 1749 and the fire was under control by 1837.

Fire crews from Shoreditch, Islington and Bethnal Green stations attended the incident. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
