Firefighters rescued a woman from a flat fire on Clarendon Rise in Hither Green.

Half of a four-roomed flat on the first floor of the building was damaged by fire. One man left the property before the Brigade arrived. A man and a woman were assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers gave fire survival guidance to residents in a flat on the second floor of the building and crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from the flat on arrival.

The Brigade was called at 1933 and the fire was under control by 2054. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Lee Green, Greenwich, Deptford and Forest Hill fire stations attended the scene.

The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a match which was dropped on to combustible materials.
