Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a blaze in a lean-to, which affected a number of surrounding properties, in Whittington Road, Southgate.
A wooden lean-to in a back garden was destroyed by fire. An adjoining ground floor flat was also damaged by fire and four other neighbouring ground floor flats were damaged.
Two women left one of the affected properties before the Brigade arrived and were assessed on scene by London Ambulance crews.
The Brigade was called at 1409 and the fire was under control by 1556.
Fire crews from Southgate, Finchley, Edmonton, Hornsey and surrounding stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to be rechargeable batteries.
