Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire on Richmond Hill in Richmond.
The roof of a third floor flat, in a converted mid-terraced house, was damaged by the fire. Four people left the property before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took nine calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 1520 and the fire was under control by 1710. Fire crews from Richmond, Kingston, Twickenham and Heston fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
