Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a student accommodation block on Maple Street in Fitzrovia.
Half of a communal kitchen on the second floor of the building was damaged by fire. Part of another communal kitchen on the first floor was also damaged by fire. Around 100 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1341 and the fire was under control by 1434. Fire crews from Euston, Soho, Kentish Town and Paddington fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
