Pedestrian subway fire – Croydon

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire in a pedestrian subway on Addiscombe Road in Croydon.  

Half of the subway was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.  

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 10 calls to the blaze.  

The Brigade was called at 2302 and the fire was under control by 0015. Fire crews from Croydon, Woodside, Norbury, Wallington, Beckenham and surrounding fire stations attended the scene 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
