Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a flat fire on Rainhill Way in Bow.
A small part of a four-roomed flat on the ninth floor of a residential block was damaged by fire. A balcony was destroyed by the blaze. A man, a woman and a child were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews after suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 13 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1517 and the fire was under control by 1616. Fire crews from Bethnal Green, Shadwell, Poplar, Millwall and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
