Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been called to a fire at a house converted into flats on Cambus Road in Canning Town.
Half of the ground floor flat in the two storey house was destroyed by fire.
Two men left the property before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1529 and the incident was under control by 1618. Fire crews from Plaistow, East Greenwich, East Ham and Poplar fire stations were in attendance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
