Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Holland Park Road in Kensington.
Part of the ground floor of a four-storey house was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1443 and the fire was under control by 1607. Fire crews from Hammersmith, Fulham and Battersea fire stations were at the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a fault in a dimmer switch.
