Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a house fire on Challock Close in Biggin Hill.
Half of the roof of a two-storey terraced house was damaged by fire. One person left the house before firefighters arrived. There have been no reports of any injuries.
A 32-metre turntable ladder has been used to tackle the fire.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been a failure in a storage lithium battery from a solar panel.
The Brigade was called at 1154 and the fire was brought under control by 1359 but crews remain on scene. Fire engines from Addington, Bromley, Croydon, Purley and Woodside fire stations attended.
