Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a fire at a restaurant on Sutton High Street.
Half of the kitchen on the ground floor and half of the first floor landing was damaged by the fire. A room on the top floor of the three-storey building, which also contained flats, was completely destroyed by the blaze. There were no injuries reported.
Road closures were in place and people were asked to avoid the area.
The Brigade was called at 0911 and the fire was brought under control by 1147. Fire crews, including one of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders, from Sutton, Wallington, Mitcham, Wimbledon, Croydon, Soho and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is being treated as accidental, but the exact cause has been recorded as undetermined.
