Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a fire on Royston Gardens in Ilford.
The loft conversion in a terraced house of two floors was partly damaged by fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
Control Officers were notified about the fire at 1137, and the fire was under control by 1230. Firefighters from Ilford, Leytonstone, Woodford and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by an electrical fault.
