Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a maisonette above a shop on Bromley High Street.
Most of a split-level maisonette on the second and third floors of the building were damaged by fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man via an internal staircase who was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. A further man left the property before the Brigade arrived and was treated on scene.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 13 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 1852 and the fire was under control by 2012. Fire crews from Bromley, Beckenham, Woodside and Lewisham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
