Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Farringdon Road in Farringdon.
Part of the first-floor roof of a three-storey building, made up of a restaurant and homes, was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1157 and the fire was brought under control by 1229. Crews from Euston, Islington, Shoreditch and Soho fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
