Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Lower Road in Surrey Quays.
Part of a ground floor restaurant, with homes above, was damaged by fire. A shed was destroyed by fire. An air conditioning unit at a neighbouring property was also destroyed by fire. Eleven people evacuated from the scene before firefighters arrived and they were assessed by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received eight calls about the fire. The Brigade was called at 0913 and the fire was under control by 1033. Crews from Deptford, Dockhead, Old Kent Road and New Cross fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
