Sadly a man has died following a roof collapse on Pevensey Road in Forest Gate.
The roof of a two-storey end-of-terraced house collapsed. One man who was trapped under rubble was released by firefighters. He was provided with immediate emergency care by firefighters; however he was sadly later pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews. Another man was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
The Brigade was called at 1702 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1900. Three fire engines from Stratford, East Ham and Homerton and two fire and rescue units from East Ham and Edmonton fire stations attended the scene.
