Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Leopold Street in Mile End.
A small part of a 17th floor flat in a 20-storey building was damaged by the fire. Two adults and two children left the property before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1221 and the fire was under control by 1308. Crews from Poplar, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel and Millwall fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
