Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a house under construction on Crofton Avenue in Bexley.
An area between two mid-terraced properties on the first floor was destroyed by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1543 and the fire was under control by 1722. Fire crews from Sidcup, Bexley, Eltham and Plumstead fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by hot works.
