Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a house fire on Wadeville Avenue in Chadwell Heath.
Most of the ground and first floors of a terraced house were damaged by fire. Part of two cars were also damaged by the blaze. Four people left the building before the Brigade arrived. One man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 12 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 0015 and the fire was under control by 0120. Fire crews from Dagenham and Ilford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
