Sadly, a woman has died following a maisonette fire on Netherhall Gardens in Hampstead.
Part of a four-roomed maisonette on the ground and first floors of a converted semi-detached house was damaged by fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from the ground floor who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1915 and the fire was under control by 2036. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from West Hampstead and Kentish Town fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
