Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters were called to a bin fire on Bow common Lane in Tower Hamlets.
Firefighters tackled a fire in a bin storage room on the ground floor of a six storey block of flats. Part of the storage room and a small amount of external cladding were damaged by the fire.
The Brigade's control Room received seven calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1845 and the fire was under control by 2007. Fire crews from Poplar, Millwall, Bethnal Green, Stratford and Homerton fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire will be investigated.
