Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a grass fire on Southend Road in Rainham.
An area of grass and shrubland, approximately 300 metres by 250 metres, was damaged by fire. Crews used beaters, water packs and hose reels to tackle the fire.
Control officers took 10 calls reporting the fire, with the first call received at 1854. Firefighters had the incident under control by 2018. Crews from Dagenham, Hornchurch, Romford and Barking fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
