Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters tackled a hotel fire on Minories in Tower Hill.
Part of a bedroom on the 14th floor of the building was damaged by fire. Around 250 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1907 and the fire was under control by 2023. Fire crews from Whitechapel, Dowgate, Dockhead, Bethnal Green and Old Kent Road fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a fault within a power bank.
