Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Crow Lane in Romford.
Part of the first floor of a two-storey end-of-terraced house was damaged by fire. Several people left the property before firefighters arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received eight calls about the incident.
The Brigade was called at 2247 and the fire was under control by 2320. Crews from Romford, Hornchurch, Dagenham and Ilford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police.
