Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a maisonette fire on Ben Johnson Road in Stepney.
Part of the first-floor bedroom of a split-level maisonette was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 11 calls to the blaze.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a halogen lamp.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Lightbulbs can get incredibly hot and can set fire to combustible materials.
"It's important to keep them away from anything that might catch fire such as books, clothing, sheets and curtains.
