Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a house on Fawn Road in Plaistow.
Part of the first floor of a two-storey house was damaged by fire. Three adults and four children left the house before firefighters arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received five calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1707 and the fire was under control by 1745. Crews from Plaistow, East Ham, Barking and Poplar fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
