Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Spray Street in Woolwich.
Four motor vehicles were destroyed by fire. Part of a building being used as a church was also damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received 20 calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1001 and the fire was under control by 1128. Crews from Plumstead and East Greenwich fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police.
