Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters tackled a fire at a student accommodation block on Goswell Road in Islington.
Part of a flat on the fourth floor of the building was damaged by fire. Around 120 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0734 and the fire was under control by 0810. Fire crews from Islington, Shoreditch and Euston fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been due to an electrical fault.
