Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a small fire at a hotel on Waterloo Road in Waterloo.
A small part of a cupboard on the first floor was damaged by fire, causing heavy smoke logging throughout the building. Around 60 people were evacuated by on-site staff before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1243 and the fire was under control by 1348. Fire crews from Dowgate, Lambeth, Whitechapel, Soho, Shadwell and Clapham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
