Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters tackled a fire on Gadwall Way in Thamesmead. 

A three-storey terraced house was destroyed by fire. Most of the ground floor and part of the first floor of a neighbouring house was also damaged along with the external facia of a third house. Three garages were also damaged along with three vehicles. There were no reports of any injuries. 

The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received 30 calls about the fire.

The Brigade was called at 1855 and the fire was under control by 2025. Fire crews from Plumstead, East Greenwich, Bexley, Greenwich and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police.
