Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire on Kemble Street in Holborn.
Most of a third floor flat, in a seven-storey building made up of a restaurant and homes, was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire is believed to have been caused by the failure of a battery associated with an e-bike.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received six calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1638 and the fire was brought under control by 1724. Crews from Soho, Euston, Dowgate, Islington, Shoreditch and Lambeth fire stations attended the scene.
