Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a shop with flats above on Beckenham Lane in Bromley.
A large amount of rubbish at the rear of the property was destroyed by fire, and the ground floor was partially damaged by the blaze. Four adults were led to safety by firefighters from the first-floor balcony, assisted by a short extension ladder. There were no injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0019 and the fire was under control by 0129. Crews from Bromley, Beckenham and Woodside fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
