Sadly, a woman has died following a fire at a residential block on Glamis Road in Shadwell.
Part of a ground-floor flat was damaged by fire. Firefighters brought a woman out of the building who was taken to hospital, where she sadly later died.
The Brigade was called at 1544 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1658. Fire crews from Whitechapel, Millwall and Poplar fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
