Firefighters have issued a reminder of the importance of smoke alarms after a fire at a derelict pub on Wood Lane in Dagenham.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled the blaze, which partially destroyed an outbuilding adjoining the pub.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received 21 calls about the fire. The Brigade was called at 1609 and the fire was under control by 1645. Crews from Dagenham and Ilford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
