Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Spine Road in Bell Green.
Part of a single-storey retail shop was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1534 and the fire was brought under control by 1609. Crews from Forest Hill, Lewisham, Greenwich and Woodside fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police.
