Derelict house fire - Croydon

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a derelict house on Davidson Road in Croydon.

The ground floor and stairs in the end of terrace house were completely destroyed by fire, most of the first floor of the house was also damaged by the blaze.

Around 14 residents from neighbouring properties were evacuated. Thankfully, no injuries are reported.

The Brigade was called at 0235 and the incident was over by 0559. Fire crews from Woodside, Croydon, Beckenham, West Norwood and Norbury fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Brigade fire investigators and the Met police.
