Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a shop with flats above on Dalston Lane in Hackney.
The ground floor of the five-storey building was partially damaged by fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0130 and the fire was under control by 0224. Crews from Islington, Stoke Newington and Homerton fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
