Firefighters have issued a safety warning after a house fire believed to be caused by a clothes iron on Grange Road in Southall.
The first floor of the three-storey home was partially damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire is believed to be accidental and caused by a clothes iron which had been left on and caught light.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Many fires that start in the home are caused by electrical items accidentally being left on.
“It’s really important to remember to switch equipment such as irons, hair-straighteners and portable heaters off as soon as you leave the room.
“Also make sure there is nothing flammable such as clothing or bedding nearby.”
The Brigade was called at 1937 and the fire was under control by 2030. Crews from Southall and Hillingdon fire stations attended the scene.
