Shop fire - Baker Street

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire on Baker Street. 

The fire was located in a terraced building of four floors, consisting of a shop with flats above. The ground and first floors of the building were damaged by the fire. One of the Brigade's 32m ladders was deployed to the scene as an observation tower. 

Around 20 people left the property before crews arrived. 

The Brigade was first called about the fire at 0456, and crews had the incident under control by 0710. Firefighters from Paddington, Soho, Euston and surrounding fire stations attended the scene. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade's Fire Investigation Team.
