Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a block of flats on Alexia Square in Millwall.
Half of a four roomed flat on the seventh floor was damaged by the fire. Three people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
Control Officers received the call at 1613 and mobilised crews from Shadwell, Plaistow, Whitechapel and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1732.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
