Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a semi-detached house used as a community centre on Lordship Park in Hackney.
Half of the ground and first floors of the building were damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0427 and the fire was under control by 0606. Fire crews from Stoke Newington, Holloway and Tottenham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
