Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Ellerdine Road in Hounslow.
Half of the first floor and part of the loft were destroyed in the two-storey end of terrace house. Two people self evacuated before the Brigade arrived. One man was rescued by crews wearing breathing apparatus from the ground floor.
The Brigade's 999 Control Centre was first called at 2357 and the incident was over by 2108. Fire crews from Heston, Feltham, Twickenham and Richmond fire stations were at the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental but the exact cause has been recorded as undetermined.
