Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a detached house under renovation on Baring Road in Lee.
Part of the ground floor was destroyed by fire. Thankfully no injuries are reported.
Sub Officer Ian Lewington was at the scene, he said: "Crews wearing breathing apparatus worked extremely hard in difficult conditions to bring the fire under control. Due to the renovation works parts of the floor were missing and made manoeuvring around the property considerably challenging."
The Brigade was called at 2113 and the incident was over by 2148. Fire crews from Lee Green, Lewisham and Bromley fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Met police.
