Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a house fire on Glenister Park Road, Streatham.
The ground and first floors of a mid-terrace house were partly damaged by the fire. Sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brigade took the first call reporting the fire at 1850, and the incident was under control by 2132. Crews from Norbury, Tooting and West Norwood Fire Station attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service and the Brigade.
