Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a house on Trent Avenue in Upminster.
The ground floor, first floor and roof of a vacant semi-detached house were destroyed by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0020 and the incident was over for firefighters at 0221. Firefighters from Hornchurch, Harold Hill, Romford and Dagenham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
