Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters responded to a fire on Lebus Street in Tottenham.
Part of a third floor communal kitchen, in a block of twelve floors, was damaged in the fire. Around 200 people evacuated the building prior to the arrival of the Brigade.
Control Officers took the call reporting the fire at 1918, and the incident was under control by 2023. Firefighters from Tottenham, Walthamstow, Stoke Newington and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by an electrical fault in an extraction hood.
