Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a flat fire on Avenell Road in Holloway.
Part of a four roomed fifth floor flat in an eight storey building was damaged by the fire. Around 50 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electrical fault.
The Brigade was called at 1915 and the incident was over for firefighters at 2029. Crews from Holloway, Islington and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the scene.
