Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a fire on Culvers Way, Carshalton.
Part of the first floor, in an end of terraced house of two floors, was damaged by the fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was first called about the fire at 1536, and crews had the incident under control by 1649. Crews from Mitcham, Sutton and Croydon fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is beloved to have been accidental, caused by textiles placed near a light overheating.
