Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a terraced house on Chester Road in Seven Kings.
Most of the first floor of the two storey house was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0520 and the incident was over for firefighters at 0639. Crews from Ilford, Dagenham and Hainault fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
