Road traffic collision - Rainham

Firefighters attended a road traffic collision on the A13 in Rainham.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision. Sadly, three people were pronounced dead at the scene. One other male passenger was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.

The Brigade was called at 2223 and the incident was over for firefighters at 0130. Crews from Wennington, Barking and East Ham fire stations attended the scene.

How to stay safe on your journey

• Slow down near schools and shopping centres or places where people may have been drinking such as clubs, bars and restaurants.
• Use your indicators and leave plenty of space when overtaking any cyclist or motorbike.
• Be careful when opening car doors.
• Use your lights when visibility is poor (not just at night) – this helps to see and be seen.
• Take a comfort break on long journeys – plan to have a break every two hours.
